BLOEME’S STORY

Flowers were such a natural part of Anja’s life,  it never occurred to her to turn it into a full-time job.

Anja excelled in her former career as a learning support teacher. She co-owned a learning support center with an Occupational and Speech therapist and was busy completing a Master’s degree in Educational Support, all while working full-time. When COVID hit and things slowed down,  Anja came to the realisation that she was investing a lot of time and energy into a career she knew in her heart wasn’t ‘it’.

Anja’s conviction was so strong that when it was time to return to ‘normal’ after COVID, she couldn’t. She dropped out of her Master’s program (with only a thesis left to submit), referred all her clients to other professionals, and opened a small flower shop. Through the flower shop, Bloeme’s first wedding inquiries came in and after the first wedding Anja was in love. She never looked back.

BLOEME’S ETHOS

We proudly support the #NoForalFoam movement.

We’re committed to bringing you lush, luxurious designs that are also eco-friendly. Floral foam is a single use plastic that is impossible to recycle. At Bloeme, we implement foam-free techniques like using reusable containers, chicken wire, and water tubes, to create beautiful, lasting designs without the waste. Our work is proof that style and elegance do not have to be compromised to when more sustainable practices are embraced.
